Former University Malaya Association of New Youth (Umany) chairperson Wong Yan Ke has filed an appeal to obtain eight potential witnesses’ statements the police had recorded in relation to a 2019 UM convocation protest.

The activist’s appeal before the Kuala Lumpur High Court is against the Magistrate Court’s refusal to allow his application for the statements in order to strengthen his defence.
