Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM) head Azwanddin Hamzah (above) today apologised to two DAP leaders as part of an out of court settlement agreement.

"I am apologising through the press without duress, and I respect the decision of the court, in line with the principle of rule of law, held by myself and JMM," he said.

Azwanddin said he apologised to DAP secretary-general and Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok for alleging that she was related to the owners of real estate company One City Development.

One City was in a dispute with the Sri Maha Mariamman temple, which resulted in several nights of rioting in the vicinity in October last year.

Azwanddin said he was also paying RM130,000 to Kok as part of the settlement agreement.

Meanwhile, he also apologised to DAP political education director and Deputy Defence Minister Liew Chin Tong (above, right) for alleging that the latter was wearing "communist" garb.

Azwanddin was sued after claiming that Liew's ministry-issued bush jacket was a "communist" uniform.

He said he will need to pay Liew RM40,000 as part of the settlement, reached on Aug 28.
