Wan Saiful proposes two replacements for Harapan manifesto

Bersatu policy and strategy bureau deputy chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan has pinpointed two documents that could serve as new guidelines for Pakatan Harapan, in place of its election manifesto

As Wan Saiful noted, the two documents – the 11th Malaysia Plan midterm review and the 2019 Budget Report – contain the latest information on the country's economy.

"These two documents could replace the manifesto, as they were written based on updated information as compared to what we had when we wrote the manifesto," he said in his speech officiating the Federal Territory Peninsular Malay Students Coalition AGM in Kuala Lumpur today.

Wan Saiful said that the Harapan government should focus on solving the problems left behind by the previous administration rather than just pointing the finger at them.

"Let's us focus on the disasters which we inherited using the more accurate information that is in our hands right now, so we can look after the welfare of the people as a whole," he said.

Wan Saiful also urged his comrades in Harapan to keep the promises it can fulfil, and discard those it cannot.

"It's time for the country's top leadership and the leaders in Harapan component parties to discuss and decide on which promises can be fulfilled soon, and which need to be rescheduled.

"The most important thing is to see which promises can be dropped altogether.

"Maybe then we can have some new information which leads us to see the real disaster that we inherited from Umno-BN, which prevent us from fulfilling the manifesto," he said.
