Najib’s stepson gets 1MDB money again
The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ordered 1MDB to pay RM225,000 to Najib Abdul Razak's stepson Riza Abdul Aziz and his two companies.
This is for costs after 1MDB withdrew its US$248 million civil suit against Riza.
Riza is accused of having received the sum misappropriated from 1MDB, which among others, was used to finance the film “The Wolf of Wall Street".
In 2020, the criminal trial against him was halted after he committed to return US$107.3 million to the Malaysian government.
This is on top of US$57 million that was forfeited by Riza's film company Red Granite Pictures.
In the civil suit, a senior MACC officer testified that Najib's stepson was working towards a global settlement on the total sum alleged to have been misappropriated.

Seputeh DAP caught in graft probe
Two former staff of Seputeh MP Teresa Kok were arrested in a graft probe over the purchase of smartboards for schools.
Kok said the two used to handle finances and constituency funds at her service centre until their resignation last year.
It is alleged that the duo had solicited and received a bribe of approximately RM500,000 to facilitate the approval of RM1.5 million in Project Mesra Rakyat funds for the supply of the interactive smartboards.
Kok claimed the two had procured the smartboards for 16 schools at a steep markup, with the total discrepancy amounting to almost RM700,000.
The Seputeh MP denied any involvement in the deal.

Unrepentant preacher defies MCMC
Controversial preacher Zamri Vinoth is not backing down from his remarks comparing kavadi bearers during Thaipusam to individuals who are possessed or intoxicated.
The post on Facebook was deleted by Meta on Sunday, only for Zamri to repost it later that night.
The MCMC - which had asked Meta to remove the post - said it had found the post "contained elements" contravening Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
