Opposition MPs have described the proposed Urban Renewal Act (URA) as a subtle tactic to displace poor Malays and Indians from urban areas.

Kubang Kerian MP Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said that there is no need for a new law, as the existing legislation is sufficient.
