The government will reduce the number of agencies with access to the National Registration Department (NRD) database to stem leaks of private data, said Home Minister Hamzah Zainuddin.

In an interview with Sinar Harian, Hamzah said the decision was made after the Home Ministry identified those responsible for the attempt to sell 22.5 million personal records on the internet for US10,000.
