Covid-19 (June 14): 1,922 new cases, 4 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 1,922 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,530,312.

Active cases currently stood at 22,961, down 0.3 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (821)

Kuala Lumpur (351)

ADS

Penang (136)

Negeri Sembilan (105)

Sabah (82)

ADS

Malacca (76)

Sarawak (76)

Perak (69)

Johor (58)

Kedah (58)

Putrajaya (32)

Pahang (17)

Terengganu (17)

Another four deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as "brought in dead".

Over the past week, an average of three people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.5, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,720 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There are 992 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 32 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (126) followed by Johor (86) and Sabah (62).
