Perak Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad has likened the state exco members to professional football players on transfer.While Saarani (photo, above) did not provide context, it appeared to be referring to Umno's impending divorce with Perikatan Nasional, of which Bersatu and PAS are component members.Saarani noted that the Perak government comprises five exco members and himself from Umno and three exco members from Bersatu, and two from PAS."We still attend the same exco meeting, make decisions together and execute them. We are still professional."It's like a football player who knows he will be transferred to another team but still plays for the current team while he is still there," he was quoted as saying by Umno online.Last month, the Umno general assembly approved a motion for Umno to cut ties with Bersatu and PN in the 15th general election.However, Umno is still hopeful about cooperating with PAS, which is inclined towards Bersatu.The Kota Tampan assemblyperson said the priority was to maintain the stability of the Perak government."We don't know what will happen after the 15th general election but for now, we have the mandate to be the government."I remind myself and my exco members that we have a responsibility to the people," he said.

In the meantime, exco members from Umno, Bersatu and PAS still in the same state govt, says Saarani Mohamad.
