1. The Federal Court has upheld the Sarawak legislature’s decision to disqualify Dr Ting Tiong Choon as Pujut assemblyperson over his previous dual-citizenship.

2. Sarawak PAS and Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia have called for Ting to be stripped of his Malaysian citizenship as well – a move that could leave him stateless because he had already renounced his Australian citizenship.

3. Malaysia and Singapore have set up a joint task force to curb the ongoing coronavirus epidemic. The World Health Organisation has officially named the disease Covid-19.

4. A senior epidemiologist predicts that the Covid-19 outbreak would soon reach its peak in China in the coming weeks and would dissipate by April.
