 4. Mahathir dismissed that he is trying to form a new coalition dubbed "Pakatan Nasional" with the opposition, stating that it was being interpreted as such due to his openness to meet with anyone including "weak" opposition parties.

5. He also reiterated that he will keep his promise to eventually handover power to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim but added that the ultimate decider is the Dewan Rakyat as he must still muster majority support.

6. On a separate matter, Mahathir slammed the US' middle east peace plan between Israel and Palestine, which was drafted without input from the latter, stating that it sides with the "occupier against the oppressed".

7. Bersatu Youth exco Mohd Muzzammil Ismail became the second candidate to announce a challenge incumbent Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman as the Bersatu youth chief in the party's upcoming elections.

9. Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy said Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's promise to compensate India's boycott of Malaysian palm oil was "sweet words" but insufficient as the Pakistani market is only one-quarter of India's.
