In a statement this morning Malaysia's Foreign Ministry did not address the issue of the reported fatalities but confirmed that five Malaysian citizens from a family were involved in the crash which occurred at 11am on Saturday local time.

"All the victims were reportedly injured and have been rushed to the Suez Canal Hospital as well as the Children's Hospital, Cairo for treatment," said the statement.
