Bersatu to summon Perak MB to explain, and 7 news from yesterday

1. Bersatu secretary-general Marzuki Yahya said his party will summon Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu today to explain his statement about waging a "solo battle" against its Pakatan Harapan ally DAP.

2. DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng admitted that there is unhappiness among the grassroots about campaigning for a Bersatu candidate in the Tanjung Piai by-election but they are still committed to ensuring that Karmaine Sardini wins the Tanjung Piai by-election.

3. Lim also appealed to voters to only judge Pakatan Harapan after it has served five years as the government.

4. Johor Menteri Besar Dr Sahruddin Jamal, who is also from Bersatu, said his party’s relations with the DAP remain good and that DAP is still helping Bersatu to campaign in the Tanjung Piai by-election.

5. The prosecution has appealed against the Johor Bahru Magistrate's Court's decision to clear a woman of reckless driving after she ran into a group of children racing on modified bicycles on the highway at 3am in the morning, killing the eight cyclists.
