Police announce transfers of seven senior officers

Bukit Aman CID Forensic Laboratory DNA Databank chief SAC Hussein Omar Khan is among seven senior officers involved in a transfer exercise announced by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).

PDRM Corporate Communications chief Asmawati Ahmad (photo, above) said in a statement released yesterday that the changes would take effect from Oct 21.

Heading the list is Hussein, who will be made the director of the National Disaster Management Agency’s operations implementation division, under the Prime Minister's Department with the rank of acting Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).

The Kedah police contingent’s Crime Prevention and Community Security Department chief SAC Zainal Abidin Sabtu will be made the deputy director-general of the Border Security Agency under the Home Affairs Ministry in Putrajaya.

Asmawati also announced the transfer of the Region Two marine police headquarters commander in Tampoi, Johor, ACP Paul Khiu Khon Chiang, as the Chief of Staff of the Eastern Sabah Security Command's Technical/Special Investigation team under the Prime Minister’s Department, with the rank of acting Senior Assistant Commander (SAC).

Temerloh District police chief ACP Zundin Mahmood is set to head the Penang Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department with the rank of acting SAC.

Also involved in the exercise is Pahang Deputy Criminal Investigation/Operations Department chief Supt Mohd Yusri Othman, who will be made the Temerloh District police chief with the rank of acting ACP.

Negeri Sembilan Integrity and Standard Compliance Department chief DSP Amran Mohd Gani will serve as the Kuala Pilah District police chief with the rank of acting Supt.

Another transfer involved Bukit Aman Training Division officer DSP Zulkifli Mahmood, who will serve as commander of the Tampoi Marine Training Centre, Johor.
