After weeks of high Air Pollution Index readings, the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (Mestecc) has decided to implement a cloud seeing exercise.

Planes took off today from Subang airport to begin the cloud seeding process to reduce haze in states in Peninsular Malaysia.

The operation was initially planned for yesterday but could not be carried out as atmospheric conditions were not conducive and necessary cloud cover lacking.
