Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub will uphold the 2018 agreement for PKR president Anwar Ibrahim to succeed Dr Mahathir Mohamad as prime minister.
"We accepted Mahathir at the time as the Pakatan Harapan chairperson after arriving at a consensus with a written agreement - that Mahathir will be the seventh prime minister while the eight will be Anwar.
"The question of reviewing this (decision) or coming up with a new plan does not arise. The agreement is still in place and Amanah will ensure we uphold the agreement," he said, according to Bernama.
However, he said that the timeline for the transition has not been discussed in detail.
Speaking to reporters in Ipoh today, Salahuddin said he had made the clarification after receiving requests from the grassroots.
In recent weeks, several Bersatu, PKR and PAS personalities have urged Mahathir, 94, to complete a full term.
The most prominent among them is PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.
Mahathir has repeatedly stated that he will honour his promise to hand over the reins to Anwar.
