PKR is mobilising supporters to attend a prayer session at the Selangor menteri besar's official residence tonight following a sex video campaign targeted at a federal minister from the party.
This comes as the attack against the minister intensified when Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, the senior private secretary to the Deputy Primary Industries Minister Shamsul Iskandar, went public to claim that it was him in the video with the male minister.
In a note circulated to party supporters and the media, PKR leaders, activists, members and supporters were asked to gather at the official residence of Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari (photo, above) at 7pm.
The congregation will begin with the Maghrib prayers before proceeding with special prayers (solat hajat) and Yaasin recital to "reject slander".
The mobilisation message was sent by PKR Youth deputy chief Hilman Idham.
In the wee hours of June 11, the sex video was systematically circulated when journalists and PKR members were added into various WhatsApp groups by unknown mobile numbers.
The sex video, which came in three parts, was then subsequently shared in the groups, along with bank documents purportedly showing payments to the minister.
The authenticity of the video has not been verified.
Early this morning, Haziq, in a video, claimed that the two men in the video were the minister and him.
Haziq claimed the incident happened on May 11 during the Sandakan by-election in the minister's room at Four Points Hotel in Sandakan.
