1. Amid his verbal jousting with the Johor royal household on the appointment of the next menteri besar for the state, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said giving absolute power to the rulers may result in them using such power for their personal gains, instead of the rakyat's.

2. Former Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein expressed concern over the issues highlighted in the Felda White Paper, especially the 'Eagle High Plantations' deal involving his cousin Najib Abdul Razak.

3. The Kelantan palace has revoked the 'Datuk' title awarded to former Tabung Haji chairperson Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, effective April 2.
