KINI ROUNDUP | Here are key headlines you may have missed yesterday, in brief.

1. Beluran MP Ronald Kiandee said he would quit the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) after passing his role as chairperson to BN Parit Sulong MP Noraini Ahmad.

2. The Human Rights Commission (Suhakam) is allowed by law to admit hearsay evidence during a public inquiry, said its commissioner Mah Weng Kwai.

3. Pakatan Harapan's candidate for the Rantau by-election, Dr S Streram is optimistic that 70 percent of voters residing outside the state constituency will return to cast their ballots on April 13.

4. Umno acting president Mohamad Hasan has questioned why the Harapan government hasn't solved the 1MDB scandal surrounding former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, 10 months after taking over the government.

5. Mohamad also claimed that Malaysia is slowly heading towards destitution, like countries that went through the Arab Spring, with the Harapan government failing to keep its promises and leaving the economy, national debt and people's livelihoods in shambles.

8. Sabah DAP is expected to field one of the late Sandakan MP Stephen Wong's daughters, Larina Wong, to defend the coastal constituency, several party sources said.
