1. The Rantau by-election will see a four-way fight between incumbent Mohamad Hasan from BN, Dr S Streram from Pakatan Harapan, and two independents, Mohd Nor Yassin and R Malar.

2. It is confirmed that Nor is an Amanah member, despite insisting that he belongs to PAS. His new party is looking to give him the boot.

4. As Malaysians count down to the money laundering and CBT trial of former premier Najib Abdul Razak, some are reviving a nine-month-old online petition for it to be broadcast on live TV.

5. DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng reiterated that he has spoken at length about how there was nothing fishy about the Penang undersea tunnel project – unlike Najib, he said, who refuses to address claims of the previous government attempting to sell the Malaysia Building in Hong Kong.

6. Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today asked for more time before revealing the contents of the Council of Eminent Persons' report, as it touches on matters that are still being negotiated.

7. CEP chairperson Daim Zainuddin said that he would release the report to the public, but that the decision is not his to make.

8. Miri MP Dr Michael Teo's food coupon handout to children in Rantau can be considered treating under the Election Offences Act 1954, said Election Commission deputy chief Azmi Sharom.

9. Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah urged PAS to not be blinded by their ideological beliefs, and appreciate that the NGO Sisters In Islam has helped Muslims in need.
