Maszlee congratulates candidates after soaring SPM scores

    (Updated )

The overall achievement of students in the SPM examination for 2018 was better compared to the last four years, Education Minister Maszlee Malik said today.

“I wish to congratulate all the candidates who received their SPM results today because they have done their best.

"Regardless of the results, what is important is what they will choose (to do) after this.

"Whatever their choice, they just have to do their best,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby, here today.

Maszlee also said all SPM candidates from the Pasir Gudang schools affected by the toxic pollution incident can decide whether to obtain their results from the Pasir Gudang District Education Office, via SMS, or online via the Examination Board website.

A total of 111 schools in the district have been ordered shut until further notice due to the disposal of chemical waste at Sungai Kim Kim on March 7.
