Terengganu Amanah has urged authorities to take stern action on those who "marred" International Women’s Day celebrations by including LGBT issues in a parade held at Dataran Merdeka last Saturday.

Its president Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad said today that the LGBT lifestyle is not acceptable in Malaysia, and said it was very important that the government take steps to preserve a way of life free of the purported deviant elements.

“The authorities must take stern action against the organisers of the recent LGBT gathering which has marred the celebrations for the International Women’s Day,” he said on Instagram.

Media reports said that at the Women's March, participants were recorded shouting slogans of “Hidup LGBT (Long live LGBT)" and carried rainbow-coloured flags to show their support for the community.
