The eldest son of Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah, who underwent a surgery yesterday following a robbery assault, is out of danger.
"He is out of danger. Surgery went well and he is now under observation," Maria said in a group text message.
"What a relief! Thank you for your concern. Much appreciated," she said.
The attack took place at a park in Taman Mayang Emas, when her son was out on a walk yesterday.
"He was having his evening walk and the guy came from the back. Pushed him down and slashed his arms before he stabbed him.
"Luckily a motorbike passed by and the robber ran off. My boys and I are traumatised," Maria told Malaysiakini yesterday.
Bernama quoted Petaling Jaya Deputy OCPD Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood as saying that the 26-year-old victim was stabbed on the right side of his abdomen.
