Former premier Najib Abdul Razak poked fun at Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali on the cancellation of the China-backed RM81 billion East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project.

This is after Lim expressed shock over Azmin's revelation that the project had been scrapped, and stated that the latter might not be in the know of certain matters decided by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Najib, who is now known as the “King of Trolls” for taking regular potshots at Harapan leaders on social media, advised the two ministers to have better communication.

“It's true, they don't have a WhatsApp group. But the telephone has been around since 1876,” he said in a Facebook posting this afternoon.

Najib then shared the telephone numbers for both Lim and Azmin's offices.

“Guan Eng, this is Azmin's office number: 03-88727170. Azmin, this is Guan Eng's office number: 03-88823007. At least, call each other once in a while,” he added.

Moving to Twitter, Najib published a screenshot of the news report quoting Lim expressing shock and said: “Soon there will be another news report – 'Azmin shocked that Guan Eng is shocked about CCC's contract cancellation'."

Meanwhile, MCA president Wee Ka Siong also fired a sarcastic salvo in a Facebook posting, which read, “Today is the Malaysian day for shocks.”
