Azmin's dismisses deal with Hisham

PKR deputy president Azmin Ali said there was nothing going on between him and former Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein, stating that they had only met each other while in Morocco - and by coincidence.

Azmin also defended his public criticism of PKR president Anwar Ibrahim's appointment of his defeated opponents into the party leadership, stating that some matters must be made public.

Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin promised that there will be a thorough inquest into the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong resigns

Kelantan ruler Sultan Muhammad V resigned as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, just days after returning to the country.

Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob said Sultan Muhammad V was never really interested in becoming the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said she was saddened by the resignation as Sultan Muhammad V was the Agong who had sworn in the new government and pardoned her husband Anwar Ibrahim.

The next ruler in line to take the position of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is the Sultan of Pahang, who will then be followed by the rulers of Johor and Perak.

Johor DAP apologised to state ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar for a party member's "rude" criticism of his son Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

Kayveas to contest in Camerons

Disputed MyPPP president M Kayveas announced that he will be contesting in the Cameron Highlands by-election.

Kayveas also claimed that MIC may sit out the by-election for him.

Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah said Pakatan Harapan will not underestimate BN in Cameron Highlands.

Bersih warned the by-election candidates against committing election offences and called on them to sign a pledge for clean and fair campaigning.
