Lim Kit Siang's statement that DAP leaders will not hesitate to quit the Pakatan Harapan government if the “new Malaysia” objective is abandoned has failed to convince a PAS lawmaker.

Lim, according to Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari is just talking big.

"It would be impossible for DAP to do this," Ahmad Fadhli said in a statement today.

Malaysiakini yesterday reported Lim as saying DAP would not hesitate to exit the Harapan coalition government if the objective of a “new Malaysia” was abandoned.

He said DAP held its principles high and would not be "spineless" like MCA.

Ahmad Fadhli, however, claimed that DAP had already sacrificed its principles with regards to party-hopping.

He cited Lim's remarks that Umno defectors seeking to join Harapan must repent by condemning their former party for allowing the 1MDB scandal - the hallmark of Umno's excesses - to take place.

This is despite Lim's past insistence that there should be an anti-party hopping law, he said

"Suddenly the door is open on the condition that they repent," Ahmad Fadhli said.

"The conclusion is if DAP can make a U-turn on the party-hopping issue when they see a flood of people trying to join Bersatu, what is so great about the 'new Malaysia' principles?

"Simply put, Lim is just talking big," he said.
