Firefighter Adib laid to rest

Almost a thousand people paid their last respects as firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, who succumbed to injuries sustained during the Seafield temple riots, was laid to rest.

Following Adib’s death on Monday, Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki demanded action against government leaders who made purportedly insensitive remarks during the riots.

Among Asyraf’s targets was de facto National Unity Minister P Waythamoorthy, who also faced quit calls from within Pakatan Harapan.

Zahid hands over power in Umno

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi went on leave and handed his duties as Umno president to his deputy Mohamad Hasan.

Prior to announcing the surprise move, Zahid admitted that Umno was now split into five factions.

He also detailed the humiliation Umno suffered in several meetings with an unnamed party.

Zahid also revealed that legal action has been initiated against Umno defectors.

Rahim on the offensive against DAP, PKR

Former Malacca chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik lashed out at DAP and PKR for objecting to his entry into Bersatu.

Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh questioned how Harapan could work with Rahim if he is already issuing threats to members of the coalition.

Bersatu supreme council member A Kadir Jasin said the party should not be “cheap” and open its doors to leaders who are no longer of value to Umno.
