Cash-strapped Malay daily Utusan Malaysia has stated that it is closing down all state bureaus as well as its printing plant in Terengganu, effective Dec 1.
Group Utusan Melayu (M) Bhd's executive chairperson Abd Aziz Sheik Fadzir, in a series of memos sent to the staff, said the exercise is part of the restructuring of the majority Umno-owned daily.
Aziz, in his first memo on Nov 5, announced that the printing plant in Gong Badak, Terengganu, as well as two bureaus in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu, will be closed down...
