Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam has cried foul over what he claimed was Pakatan Harapan's silence after his brother Azman Noor was remanded for four days to facilitate a sedition investigation.

"My younger brother Azman Noor Adam has just been remanded for four days for an investigation under Section 4 of the Sedition Act 1948.

"Before the 14th general election, (Harapan de facto leader) Anwar Ibrahim and his men vociferously criticised the use of the Sedition Act, but today, he (appears) to be supporting it in his ambition to become prime minister.

"There is total silence," Lokman said.

He also accused Anwar of being silent on contracts involving Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's sons.

"He is silent on everything as long as he gets to become prime minister. He is not walking the talk even before he becomes prime minister.

"He will be worse if he becomes prime minister," Lokman added.

Harapan has pledged to repeal the Sedition Act. However, in the interim, police have continued to use the law.

Human rights group Suaram has said that Putrajaya must take responsibility if police continued to use the Sedition Act pending its repeal.
