The opposition leader in the Selangor Legislative Assembly, Rizam Ismail, has been appointed as the chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee for the state.

The announcement was made by Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari at the state assembly sitting today.

Also appointed members of the committee were PKR assemblypersons Elizabeth Wong (Bukit Lanjan), Kota Mohd Najwan Halimi (Kota Anggerik) and Mohd Shaid Rosli (Jeram).

They are joined by Ronnie Liu (Sugai Pelek) and Lin Yi Wei (Kampung Tunku) from DAP, and Saari Sungib (Hulu Kelang) from Amanah.

Rizam was appointed following a statement from Amirudin yesterday that he was prepared to give the post to the opposition leader, as in conventional under the regulations of the Selangor Legislative Assembly.
