The additional charges faced by former premier Najib Abdul Razak is not related to 1MDB of the luxury yacht Equanimity, said his lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah.

"I want to stress it (the charges) has nothing to do with 1MDB.

"It has nothing to do with the issue of the yacht that arrived in Port Klang yesterday," he told reporters at the Jalan Duta Court Complex lobby in Kuala Lumpur.
