KINI ROUNDUP | Here are the key headlines you may have missed yesterday, in brief.

Apandi U-turns on Umno supreme council

Former attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali was among 11 members appointed to Umno's supreme council.

Apandi initially said it was an honour to be appointed, and that it was his right to be associated with Umno since he was no longer the attorney-general.

However, Apandi eventually decided to turn down the appointment, citing possible negative perceptions that would be linked to his time as attorney-general and a judge.

Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said the debacle was both disappointing and embarrassing.

Jho Low face-swap?

Authorities reportedly believe fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low, may have undergone facial reconstruction surgery and assumed a new identity to evade arrest.

The Immigration Department believes Low is using his own name on his Saint Kitts and Nevis passport.

Low's business in Hong Kong is operating as usual.
