Dr M's choice stirs discontent in DAP

Zahid grilled for nine hours

The MACC questioned Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for nine hours in relation to its 1MDB investigation.

The MACC will also question former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's stepson Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz, a source said.

The 1MDB special taskforce announced that investigators froze 408 bank accounts suspected of having received funds allegedly misappropriated from 1MDB, with a total value of RM1.1 billion.

However, the special taskforce denied it had any role in freezing the bank account owned by the Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation, which is linked to the Pahang royal family.

Najib insisted the RM2.6 billion in his personal bank account was a "donation" and not from 1MDB.

He also claimed former Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz was aware of the massive deposit and did not raise the red flag.
