Cops reveal partial haul from condo

The police have counted cash found in 35 bags retrieved from a posh condominium in relations to the 1MDB investigations but there are still 37 bags filled with luxury items to go. The total amount of cash was RM114 million.

Investigation chief Amar Singh said his team of experts will verify whether among the items seized from the Pavilion Residences linked to former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak included “gold bars”.

The haul was part of investigation on three condominium units. Amar confirmed that Najib's children were residing in two units, while another was owned by a "Tan Sri".

Putrajaya has ordered the Inland Revenue Board to investigate Penang-born businessman Jho Low in relations to funds misappropriated from 1MDB.

Swiss national Xavier Andre Justo told Malaysiakini he did not steal data from PetroSaudi International - 1MDB's former joint-venture partner - nor blackmail his former employers.

He related how the horrors of a Thai prison had made him sign confessions under duress.

Najib hits back at Guan Eng

Najib criticised Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng for "spooking" investors for claiming that the national debt stood at RM1 trillion.

He also criticised Lim for misleading the public into thinking that Putrajaya was forced to bail out 1MDB to the tune of RM7 billion over the past year.

Eight Perlis BN lawmakers lodged police reports against the appointment of Azlan Man as menteri besar on grounds that this violated the Federal Constitution and state laws.

Meanwhile, Perlis BN leader Shahidan Kassim denied that he had committed "derhaka" (treason) against the Perlis ruler.
