PKR Youth wants assets of BN ex-ministers frozen
ADS

Angkatan Muda Keadilan, the PKR Youth wing, today urged the government to freeze the assets of cabinet ministers and BN MPs under the administration of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak to prevent money or assets from being taken out of the country.

Youth deputy chief Afif Bahardin said this was because of the 1MDB scandal, and claimed that every cabinet minister and BN MP in the previous administration were responsible for it.

"PKR Youth is stunned by the announcement by the new Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng that since April 2017, Malaysians through the Finance Ministry had to pay almost RM7 billion for debts due to the 1MDB scandal.

“This announcement confirms all our claims that the Umno-led BN coalition had used public funds and forced the public to bear the burden of debt caused by the implementation of the 1MDB,” he said in a statement today.

Afif said Najib should not be the only one made accountable because each member of the cabinet and BN MP had to bear the collective responsibility for the debacle.

“They not only failed to stop the (former) prime minister, but also approved and allowed the criminal activities of the 1MDB,” he said.
