Harapan takes ROS to court

Several Pakatan Harapan leaders filed a civil suit against the Registrar of Societies (ROS) over its failure to respond to their application to be registered as a formal coalition.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak said the opposition should stop repeating "lies" about the country going bankrupt and accept that the economy is doing well.

PKR's Kuala Kedah Azman Ismail described the RM1.3 billion allocation announced by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for Langkawi as an "act of desperation" ahead of the 14th general election.

Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos made a donation of "RM7 billion" to Bersatu, following the call by the party's leaders for donations to be deposited into the Bersatu bank account.

Bersatu Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed "thanked" Jamal for the donation, which he said was more generous than the RM2.6 billion deposited into Najib's account by a Saudi donor.

Bersih tells EC to halt postal voting

Electoral watchdog Bersih called on the Election Commission (EC) to immediately halt the registration of postal voters, claiming the system is prone to manipulation for electoral outcomes.

The Court of Appeal dismissed the bids to challenge the EC's ongoing redelineation exercise by the Penang government and 48 voters from Segamat in northern Johor.

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng handed RM250 each to four traffic policemen as an incentive for helping to clean up sand that spilled over from a lorry along the Penang Bridge yesterday.

Lim also excitedly announced the finding of two cannons, dating back some 200 years, at Fort Cornwallis, George Town.

Police are still awaiting the forensic report on the case of student M Vasanthapiriya, 13, who committed suicide after being accused by a teacher of stealing her handphone.
