Apex court quashes bid to halt Perak, Malacca redelineation

The Federal Court refused to grant leave for the applications from two Perak MPs, as well as from seven residents in Malacca, to challenge the Election Commission's ongoing redelineation exercise.

The Court of Appeal upheld that Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar has to pay RM150,000 in damages and RM60,000 as costs to former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim for defaming him.

The High Court in Penang ordered defunct news portal FZ.com and its managing editor Terence Fernandez to pay a total of RM320,000 to Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and businessperson Tan Kok Ping for defamation.

The High Court in Kuala Lumpur struck out a suit by Petaling Jaya Selatan MP Hee Loy Sian to challenge Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia's decision disallowing questions related to 1MDB to be raised in Parliament.
