Mahathir's US plan smacks of hypocrisy, says Hishammuddin
ADS

The reported plan by Dr Mahathir Mohamad to head an opposition delegation to the United States in an attempt to topple the administration of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak portrays the hypocrisy of the former Umno leader, said Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussain.

He said that when Dr Mahathir was the prime minister from 1981 to 2003, he was averse to the opposition political parties indulging in such a thing.

“However, it is different now. The people can see his hypocrisy. He does not walk the talk,” he said to reporters after launching the Sembrong Housing Development Agenda at the Sungai 10 Felcra in Paloh near here today.

Hishammuddin, who is the defence minister and minister with special functions, was commenting on the claim by former DAP vice-chairperson Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim on the Mahathir plan.

Tunku Abdul Aziz said yesterday that Dr Mahathir, who is chairperson of Bersatu, planned to make the visit on Feb 20 to garner support for his attempt to topple the present administration.

It was reported that Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin would also be in the delegation.
