More people are affected by the floods in Sarawak, with 5,679 people from 1,722 having been evacuated as at noon today.

A spokesperson at the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said there was an increase of 117 victims from 5,562 people, involving 1,682 families, in the morning.

The victims are at 31 relief centres in Samarahan (1,483 people), Serian (1,274), Sarikei (eight), Sibu (1,028), Mukah (89), Bintulu (1,341) and Limbang (456), he said today.
