ADS

Two police inspectors from Bukit Aman's Commercial Crime Investigation Department have been remanded for three days to facilitate investigation into a suspected bribery case.

Magistrate Siti Nabilah Abdul Rashid issued a remand order from today until Feb 8 after the MACC lodged an application at the Magistrate's Court in Putrajaya.

According to a MACC source, the two police officers, aged 31 and 33, were arrested in Petaling Jaya yesterday, and during the arrest MACC also seized RM15,000 from them.

Both officers were suspected of soliciting a bribe of RM40,000 from an individual so that the individual would not be arrested in connection with an investment case under police investigation, the source said.

Both police officers were being investigated under Section 17 (A) of the MACC Act 2009.
