Umno veterans defend Siti Hasmah

Umno veteran leader Rafidah Aziz spoke out against the move by police to question Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, pointing out that unlike a certain leader, she was not involved in kleptocracy.

Umno's Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Tengku Hamzah said authorities should not harass the former prime minister's wife and should instead go after her husband Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

On a separate note, Tengku Razaleigh also raised the possibility of a hung Parliament after the 14th general elections.

Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein slammed Mahathir's meeting with EU diplomats as proof of the latter's "inconsistencies".

Kit Siang returns

DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang made his first public appearance in Skudai, Johor after undergoing a cancer operation last month.

In a ceramah, Lim explained the importance of capturing the rural Malay vote and Mahathir's role as Pakatan Harapan's prime ministerial candidate.

A controversial banner lauded Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir's nomination as Harapan's prime ministerial candidate and bade PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim "bye bye", which Bersatu blamed on Umno.

Zahid fumes over RM600k hall

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi fumed over a RM600,000 hall built in his constituency which he claimed was not up to par.

He also spoke out against a campaign to spoil votes, urging those intending to do so to instead vote for BN.

Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid said there was no urgency to build more Chinese schools.
