The Federal Territories Ministry is confident it can develop 80,000 units of Federal Territory Affordable Homes (Rumawip) by the middle of this year.

Its minister, Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, said they were currently ahead of the target date set in 2020.

"As of December last year, we managed to achieve 71,554 units, or 89.44 per cent of the overall target.

"For this year, there will be many more Rumawip projects at strategic locations near the city centre, which will be offered and are still being assessed," he said during the launch ceremony and drawing of lots for Rumawip units at Residensi Vista Wirajaya and Vista Wirajaya 2 in Kuala Lumpur today.

Tengku Adnan said the evaluation took into account projects which were under the “Completed,” “Under Construction” and “Development Order Approval” categories.

Rumawip Residency Vista Wirajaya and Vista Wirajaya 2 offers two residential blocks of 30 and 35 floors with a total of 953 units, and are expected to be completed by 2022.

The 82.1 to 78.9 sq metre units with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and one parking lot are being offered at RM300,000 each.
