Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan advised the people of Sabah not to be easily deceived by fake news which will only harm the people and the state.

He said fake news would only cause discord among the multiracial and multi-religious communities in the state.

“Diversity is our strength in Sabah, But keep in mind my advice so that we are never fooled by fake news.

“As the election gets closer, a lot of ridiculous stories will arise and it is only aimed at causing racial disunity, for example between the Muslim and Christian communities,” he said.

Abdul Rahman, who is also Kota Belud member of parliament, said this at the Christmas (2017) and New Year’s dinner in Kota Belud , last night.

At the same time, he said whatever the outcome, people should avoid conflicts and religious divisions.
