The police spent five hours recording statements from former Felda chairperson Isa Samad over the Jalan Semarak land transfer today.

Inspector-general of police Mohd Fuzi Harun said the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) investigation team had finished questioning Isa, who was accompanied by four officers.

"Yes, the statement recording process has been completed," he said when contacted.

He, however, declined to disclose when exactly the process was over.

Earlier, CCID director Amar Singh Ishar Singh said the session which began in the morning, was resumed at 3pm after a mid-day break.

Isa, who was reported to have requested the session to be postponed yesterday, arrived at the CCID office at 10.30am.

The police have set up a special team to investigate the alleged loss of ownership of four parcels of Felda land in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur.

On Dec 21, the media had reported that Felda was at risk of losing ownership of a strategic piece of land in Jalan Semarak, estimated to be worth RM200 million, when it was believed to have been transferred through an allegedly "dubious deal" in 2015.

The land transfer was believed to have occurred when Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd (FIC) appointed a local company as the primary developer on June 3, 2014, and it was given full power of attorney to develop the land.

Isa was the chairperson of Felda from 2011 to January 2017; chairperson of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) from Jan 1, 2011, to June 19, 2017; and the chairperson of FIC since its establishment on July 2, 2013, till 2017.
