Umno Youth man wants hotel association deregistered

Federal Territories Umno Youth leader Razlan Rafii called for the deregistration of the Malaysian Hotels Association, after it defended a policy to ban Muslim women working as frontline staff from wearing the headscarf.

Tourism and Culture Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz (photo) also criticised the policy, and sarcastically questioned if it would better for frontline hotel staff to be in the nude.

Gerakan Youth said it disagreed with the policy, but also criticised calls to boycott the hotels.

DAP and PKR offered legal services to Muslim women to challenge employers who ban them from wearing headscarves.
