Don’t trust videos showing MACC chief’s alleged affair
Victor Johan: MACC chief Dzulkifli Ahmad has maintained that the videos were aimed at discrediting MACC's efforts, but he never denied the validity of those video clips. The inspector-general of police (IGP) has claimed that the police are investigating Dzulkifli under Section 498 of Penal Code over the alleged extramarital affair.
DAP MP Gobind Singh Deo and several other opposition lawmakers raised concerns to the home minister in Parliament about a possible cover-up between the police and MACC, since they are conducting several high profile investigations on each other.
Umno MP for Langkawi Nawawi Ahmad then made a statement that it wasn't right for Gobind to raise the matter in Parliament, and called for the matter to be put to rest.
Why should the matter be put to rest, Nawawi? There's a high possibility of a trade-off between MACC and the police and that police investigations on Dzulkifli can be compromised, with the result being NFA - no further action. The rakyat want to know.
Anonymous_1424794168: If the videos were doctored, then the prerogative is for the slandered victim to use independent experts to prove his innocence and counter-sue all those involved.
There’s no need for your defence, Nawawi. Hollow statements like these cause us not to think highly of our politicians. It’s time our politicians show us that they have reasonable intelligence to be elected representatives.
Anonymous 19811504508400: Those videos must be analysed by an independent party to confirm that there has been no editing (or otherwise) done. "I am of the view that..." is a personal opinion. Others have different views.
Anonymous 1719401496919916: If Nawawi doesn't understand, a video is not a still shot. To doctor a video is very difficult. Also, there is other evidence like the flight ticket. So, what do you say to that? Also doctored?
R Venugopal: Why do our leaders fear the truth which is easily verified? Air ticket and flight data, passport control, records at the VIP lounge, MACC travel records, hotel bookings. By checking on all this information, the truth shall surface.
Why make it look so difficult to find the truth? When it comes to parties aligned with the government, there are more excuses than action. If you are from the other side, you will be paraded in an orange T-shirt.
Caripasal: The investigations of this straightforward case seems to be taking ages. An IT expert can easily determine if the video or photos are doctored or otherwise.
Wong Fei Hoong: Nawawi, just let Dzulkifli answer “yes” or “no”. He has been keeping quiet all this while, so why do you defend him? If it is false, let the MACC chief sue the one who released these videos.
Cina Sudah Mari: Because Dzulkifli is the head of MACC, he has to be seen as a person of impeccable reputation. Nawawi cannot just deny when there is video evidence. Where is the proof that it wasn't him? This denial is weak and insufficient against the videos.
Slumdog: Nawawi, are you an apologist for MACC chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad? He is now in hiding and we have not heard from him lately boasting about his arrests. Who asked you to come to his defence?
When it is one of your kind and a protected species, they can do no wrong. The crime is always defendable. It is someone else’s fault, they didn’t do it or they never met the person.
Then the attorney-general, in his usual modus operandi, will see nothing and hear nothing and will gleefully, with a straight face, report that there is a lack of evidence.
Drngsc: Nawawi, why are you getting involved? It is none of your business. You were not in Bali, were you? What we are all waiting for is for Dzulkifli to deny that it is him. Tell the whole country and the whole world that it is not him? He has not done that.

Ryan: In the age of technology, what appears to be Nawawi speaking in the Dewan Rakyat may actually be a Nawawi clone or a cyborg with an artificial human skin. We can do just about anything with (technology).
