International Consortium of Investigative Journalists released a trove of 13.4 million offshore records referred to as the Paradise Papers.

The leaked documents revealed, among others, 1MDB-linked Penang businessperson Jho Low seeking extradition information as he considered safe havens in the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands.

Putrajaya said the MACC is not investigating the 1MDB scandal because other agencies, including the police and Bank Negara Malaysia, have done so.

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, in a parliamentary written reply, said police have resubmitted their investigation papers into 1MDB to the Attorney-General's Chambers and are awaiting instructions.

Saudi Arabia arrested 11 princes, including Turki Abdullah, who was linked to the 1MDB scandal, in an anti-corruption crackdown.

Kedah denies granting title to man in Rela attack

The Kedah royalty denied it conferred the "Datuk Seri" title on the 29-year-old man involved in an attack on Rela officers.

The man also pleaded not guilty to a further charge related to drugs.
