Floods inundated Penang after record-breaking levels of rainfall. At least seven people were killed.

Chong sorry after 'deity' gaffe

MCA Youth Chief Chong Sin Woon mocked Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, saying he could not prevent the floods despite his "deity-like" status.

Chong later apologised for his remarks.

The Education Ministry said that SPM and STPM exams will be held today despite the floods.

PM hurls 'kepala bapak kau' at 'stupid' opposition

An angry Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak called the opposition "stupid", and said "kepala bapak kau" (literally, "your father's head") in response to their claims that the government had sold Malaysia's sovereignty.

Najib sarcastically said that Dr Mahathir Mohamad thinks of himself as "perfect".

MCA president Liow Tiong Lai called Mahathir a failed leader who is now heading a "Pakatan Jahat (evil alliance)"

The police denied that Mahathir's Special Action Unit (UTK) bodyguards had been withdrawn.

A teenage suspect accused of planning to attack a beer festival in Kuala Lumpur, pleaded guilty to possesing homemade bombs.
