DAP flayed for no-show at Penang landslide dialogue

Penangites, BN representatives and NGOs tore into the DAP-led Penang state government, after party representatives did not turn up at a dialogue session on the deadly Oct 21 landslide in Tanjung Bungah.

At the forum, NGOs proposed jail time for errant developers who flout hillslope development rules.

Residents in Sungai Ara, Penang also urged the state government to support their bid to stop a hillslope development in their area.

Tanjung Bungah assemblyperson Teh Yee Cheu - who has opposed hillslope projects - said he will quit DAP after the Penang state assembly is dissolved.

Datuk Seri told to surrender

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged a "Datuk Seri" who allegedly beat up three Rela personnel, to surrender to the police.

DAP leaders at a fundraising event in Perak charmed their audience by predicting that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak would switch places with Pakatan Harapan de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim in 2018.

MCA leaders condemned Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for offering to sponsor a wheelchair or crutches for MCA president Liow Tiong Lai.
