Dr M decries dictatorship
Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said only a dictatorship would make schoolchildren wave party flags, in reference to a primary school event at SK Putrajaya Presint 14 (1) where pupils chanted “Hidup Umno” and sang the party anthem.
Federal Territories BN Youth chief Mohd Razlan Rafii defended the event, stating that it was only a school presentation of the history of independence in which Umno was involved.
Meanwhile, Putrajaya Umno Youth leader Ahmad Faisal Abdul Karim also stressed the event was not political in nature.
However, DAP sec-gen Lim Guan Eng slammed the school event as an abuse of power.
The Kuala Lumpur branch of the Malaysian Historical Society, which was consulted for the event, said it should be looked at in its "proper context".
Annuar hints Umno-PAS announcement soon
Umno information chief Annuar Musa said "wait and see" regarding an announcement by the PAS and Umno leadership that "will make Muslims and Malays very happy."
DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang will initiate legal action against claims that he received RM1 billion from Mahathir.
Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth chief Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman claimed he was being blackmailed with "sensitive photos."

A South Korean student who had languished in prison for a year for drug possession was discharged and acquitted after a police witness admitted to lying.
