The Penang state government has announced a one-off payment of RM400 per family or building owner, following floods which inundated the state on Sept 15.

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said each family or building owner can only get one payment.

"It must be stressed that this payment is not a precedent but one-off, following the heavy rains due to Typhoon Doksuri, where the rainfall recorded in one day was equal to that of one month," Lim said in a statement today...
